Chunks Large

  • Imagine large blocks being pushed through the wall. The sloping sidewalls make it difficult to hang on. This set looks positive but can be deceiving on steeper angles.

Good angles on the holds for ledges and pinches

I bought these for a casual climbing wall that leads to the sleeping loft in my bedroom - my girlfriends idea. Chose these so that they could be ascended and descended barefoot. Worked out well.

Versatile and Challenging

I used my chunks (the light blue set in the photo) to make a continuous route with the few finishing holds from a different set. The route starts on an 80o wall that traverses to a 75o wall before finishing up a 45o kickout (right to left in the picture). The chunks require delicate handwork where your grip changes substantially between how your left and right hands will use the holds. The multiple angles on each hold create a wide variety of pinches and sloper shelfs. The chunks can be rotated to increase or decrease the respective difficulty of the grip allowing you to set a route and then making it progressively more difficult with minor tweaking as you get it dialed. The holds are pleasant to use and do not tweak your fingers allowing you to work a route without fear of tweaking something. Definitely the chunks are one of my favorite holds on my near vertical wall.

Good looking and versatile

Set on a mostly vertical wall with a ‘cave’ feature. Easy to tweak the character by rotation and placement. These are pleasant to grab and to look at, they make the most challenging and longest route at home thanks to good amount of holds in the set.

These large chunks are amazing. On my 30 degree home wall they feel hard. You can spin them endless directions to change the difficulty from moderate to full haus.
